Flavorful bistro fare
Passio, located on a beautiful, rather quiet street in the heart of Helsinki, is like two restaurants in one. Daytime, it’s a prime spot for a light lunch and a local lager or a glass of your favorite wine. At night, things get a bit more hearty, with proper three- or five course menus.
The brasserie-style offerings are intensely flavorful; a single vividly green goat cheese raviolo is bathed in a rich onion- and herb sauce; beautiful Icelandic arctic char confit comes with barley and herbs; jerusalem artichokes are prepared three ways, and while the dish might be a bit heavy on the salt, all it needs is a refreshing drink, a crisp craft beer, for instance. Passio’s wines are hand picked and from small European vineyards, they pair nicely with the Scandi-European flavors.
