A cross-cultural love story
A beautiful medley of au-pairing, pop-upping and pure love. While trying to figure out her future as a nanny in Finland, Dutch native Romany Ekegren met Juho Ekegren in Kerava, a town just north of Helsinki. Love at first sight begat pop-up dinners and catering gigs, the couple got married and promptly opened a brick-and-mortar eatery.
Chapter is a reflection of its owners: relaxed, passionate and thorough. Located in the Torikortteli neighborhood, with the grand Helsinki Cathedral on one side and the glimmering Baltic Sea on the other, the duo’s concept marries a global fine-casual approach with local ingredients. Enjoy a three-course lunch or linger a bit longer over their tasting menu. Come back at night and grab a drink in the bar, one of Chapter’s specialties. Whether it is Romany’s kombucha experiments or a stout sherbet after a light, but ever so flavourful meal, Chapter surprises us time and again.
