WHITE GUIDE DENMARK: The four-month-old Copenhagen restaurant Alchemist rattled the Danish culinary establishment on Monday when White Guide Denmark unveiled this year's Master Level list and the 2020 guide at a gala in Kødbyen, Copenhagen. It is a very close run at the top; a total of four restaurants landed on 39 out of a possible 40 food points, and it was the overall score of 98, 97, 96 and 95 points that determined the following order:

  1. Alchemist, Copenhagen, 39/98
  2. Noma, Copenhagen, 39/97
  3. Koks, Leynar, Faroe Islands, 39/96
  4. Kadeau København, Copenhagen, 39/95

This is the sixth consecutive year that Denmark's White Guide editors have assessed the country's restaurants. “The level is higher than ever before – and the trend with sustainable and holistic restaurants has now become the new standard. Twenty restaurants on the Global Master Level this year reaffirm Denmark as a top culinary destination,” say the editors of White Guide Denmark.
