Historic stay in the heart of Malmö
If walls could speak... Mayfair Hotel Tunneln is like a history book, and its old walls are lined with stories. Rewind time 700 years, anyone? Alas, we missed those feasts with knights, mayors, governors and royalty under the grand arches. The present isn’t quite as much riotous fun. But the hotel has been pleasingly refurbished, and history is well preserved despite the addition of mod cons. Rooms are spacious and equipped with adjustable beds, a small work space and a thoughtfully composed mini-bar. There are singles, small doubles, large family rooms and suites. In one of the hotel’s most beautiful rooms you find the brothers and restaurateurs Ebbe and Mats Vollmer and their Snapphane restaurant, described by the pair as ‘Malmö’s most season-observing bistro’.
