Not for couch potatoes
Until just a few years ago it was mainly the golf courses that drew guests to Ekerum, but now there’s a lot more to choose from. You can go mountain biking, play padel or football – for example. Checking in is a bit stressful for the guest who wants to have time to rent bikes, play tennis, relax in the small spa – and have dinner. The professionally friendly woman at reception assists in getting priorities right. But first we dump our bags in the apartment we’ve been allotted. It’s spacious, with two bedrooms, a bathroom and kitchen and wide views over the golf courses. Clean and functional, but cosiness is marred by a hard sofa and narrow beds. The breakfast buffet in the airy dining room is generous and features health-conscious choices, with plenty of fruit and veg and wholesome breads and cereals. Opportunities abound to study golfers’ and cyclists’ dress codes. Then we take a walk along the marked paths in the nearby woods.
