A nightclub vibe right in the centre
Located in a fairly nondescript street a short hop from the shopping streets and 5 minutes from the station, Vox is well placed for access to most things in Jönköping. Rooms span the entire spectrum from windowless boxes that won’t set you back much to an 80 square-metre luxury suite that goes almost to five figures. But even if you don’t get one of the rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows on Lake Vättern, you can enjoy the panoramic view from the gym. Digital life rules here, with checking in done on touch screens – a smart idea that loses some of its edge when key cards still have to be programmed by reception staff. The colour scheme in the lobby as well as the rooms and restaurant is gold and black, giving a nightclub feel which is definitely reinforced by the rainbow-coloured bathroom mosaics’ disco-ball vibe. Breakfast is really good on local produce, and much of it tastes homemade. It’s laid out on the bar counter in the open kitchen of Restaurang Vox on the ground floor, where lunch and à la carte dinners in the modern Nordic style are also served.
