Your own pad near the ski slopes
The draw of the Swedish fjeld region only seems to grow, and with it the selection of hotels and activities as well. In Vemdalsskalet, a village in Härjedalen, Skistar opened Hovde Hotel a few years ago, and construction is still going on in the area. The hotel is full of clever and efficient solutions in terms of service, food and activities. Check-in is at a shared reception for the village’s cottages and hotels, located in Torget, opposite the hotel. In the low season you use a pass to come and go as if it were your own flat, and the next-door restaurant is an excellent choice. Sportbaren in the main building is popular in the high season. Rooms are decorated with details evoking Swedish country life, and beds are wonderfully comfortable – they, and the complete silence, guarantee a good night’s sleep. You’ll spend most of your time here on the slopes, in cafés or restaurants, or shopping, and then return to your cosy pad with a balconet. There’s also a gym in Torget, to which you can buy a day pass.
