Few places can boast as creative a chef as the half-crazy Mexican’s Asian sibling on Jakobsbergsgatan. As the hybrid name suggests, this is a cosmopolitan with high ambitions. In the dining room raucous, giggling, cackling guests choose from a menu of equal parts Yucatan and Yokohama, Seoul and Lima. It’s flavourful, colourful, and uninhibited. The bar follows the same principle. Reggaeton, merengue and Japanese electronica pump from the speakers. Lime, agave and pineapple populate the glasses. Yuc’s selection of tequila, mezcal and cachaça is impressive – as is the bar staff’s creativity and professionalism. Stockholm’s possibly best margaritas are served here, and definitely its only Peruvian Punch. No shortcuts allowed – drinks are mixed with fresh lime, mango and chili. The beer taps echo the geographic breadth of the menu, with Yuc’s own maize lager Pachanga and a large selection of Japanese umeshu and Korean soju. The bar claims to be Stockholm’s best pre-party venue, and we’re inclined to agree.
