A charming watering hole in the thick of things
Teaterbaren, hiding coyly behind heavy velvet drapes, is a pleasant little watering hole where after-work finance suits, dating couples and dining theatre guests squeeze in at the tables along the wall and the rounded bar in the middle. A lively, eclectic and charming place. The food is in the classical vein, and well prepared – the steak tartare and mushroom risotto are both excellent. The interpretation of an Old Fashioned is on the alcoholic side, while a refreshing Ginger Mule is more balanced. Teaterbaren is at its best as a stopover on your way to dinner, or for a refuelling break on your shopping rounds. The best place to sit is at the window bar counter, whence you have a perfect view of the crowded pedestrian junction outside.
