Puta Madre Bar

Simply decadent, or mostly kitschy and fun? It’s hard not have an opinion about this pastiche of a Mexican brothel. Puta Madre is intended to be understood as a ‘tribute to the Mexican madam’. Its most authentic Mexican attributes are behind the bar, though: Scandinavia’s biggest selection of tequila and mezcal, comprising nearly 250 tequilas and around 30 types of mezcal. There are also plenty of drinks and cocktails with larky names, as well as the familiar sangria, caipirinha and mojito. If you want to try something new, go for Micheladas – trendy Mexican beer drinks. The genuinely Mexican food – from palitos to carnitas tacos – is worth a visit for its own sake. If you want a break from the Mexican, step into the Basque Country next door, with the same owner: Txakoli wine and delicious pintxos at SEK 30 a bite.
