MJ's Bar

The pink flamingo armchair at MJ's has inspired Malmöites to take countless selfies, and the hotel bar has quickly become one of the city’s hottest. For the atmosphere, for the enveloping, over-the-top, playful decoration, and for MJ’s ability to create hype – as in the inner, ‘secret’ bar with no official name or address. In the autumn of 2018 MJ's raised its bar game by enlisting the services of Mikael Melzer Nilsson from Strøm Cocktailbar in Copenhagen, and he has given MJ's a new, happening drinks menu that includes recycled black bananas in the daiquiri, martini with orange wine, and smoky, hard-core mezcal cocktails with elegant garnishes, often recycled from the kitchen. The ordinary hotel guest may not be ready for the stiff drinks that knock you backwards if you’re not prepared. But then again, MJ’s has never been known for moderation.
