Importer of British (Gastro) Pub Culture
We’re not going to lie, Tallinn can be slightly disappointing for those who wish to animate their meals with social interaction and hope to make new acquaintances over a drink. It’s by no means hopeless, though. Here to help is Clayhills gastropub, the city’s own importer of British pub culture. Both in the dining room and on the outdoor terrace the tables are packed tightly, it’s impossible not to overhear your neighbors, most of which are often British, just to add an extra dose of authenticity to the UK vibe.
The menu features fish and chips, rabbit pie as well as flavors from further afield. The drinks list adds a splash of local color with signature cocktails such as the green apple martini––yes, tart apples are a thing in Estonia. There’s of course also a great selection of craft beers, another Estonian specialty.
Don’t worry, you’ll meet real Estonians too. Because this is where the less introverted ones come to eat, drink and socialize.
