Cafe Truffe

Café Truffe is an iconic spot on Tartu’s Town Hall Square, once awarded the title of Tartu’s best eatery. Plenty of the university town’s top chefs have worked here. And yet, Truffe has remained relatively unchanged throughout the years. The menu is long and comprehensive, ranging from national classics to exotic fare. The drinks list mirrors this perfectly. Places like these tend to lack character but Truffe is a renowned local establishment. Each fall, a fresh batch of academic newcomers inevitably finds its way to Truffe. Why? Because everybody else is already there, it’s an institution after all. And thus, an old joint enjoys the lasting attention of the youth. Year after year. The only such place in Tartu.
