Cocktails at Sunset
NOA is like a private box at the theater, perched at the water’s edge where the Baltic Sea is a vast stage and the silhouette of Tallinn forms a dramatic backdrop. Every night, there’s a grand performance as the sunset casts it in inimitable colors across the rippling expanse. To make things better, NOA’s menu offers a similarly vivid show in multiple acts. And though there’s a giant aquarium filled with oysters, langoustines and lobsters, this isn’t a seafood restaurant, there’s a bounty of dishes whose fresh and seasonal ingredients are plucked from land too. Eel and lamb kebab, duck tacos and porcini stroganoff, all expertly plated with ingenuity. NOA is the country’s greatest trendsetter and importer of culinary tendencies. Even the drinks list can keep up the pace with the city’s most cutting edge cocktail bars. The signature quaffs are impressive, several of them have already earned international awards. A good choice (despite the name) is the Hernö Old Tom Gin-based Last Word, and the non-alcoholic Virgin Cuctail with cucumber and apple. The Espresso Tiramisu is a worthy dessert substitute.
